Generate Learning Content with AI
What This Solves
If you want to practice a specific situation but cannot find the right audio, Aelano can generate a study script and turn it into audio. It works well for focused practice around travel, work, everyday conversation, or vocabulary you are currently reviewing.
Where to Find “Generate Content”
Open the add-content or upload panel on Home and choose Import from Text. On that page, switch between AI Generate and Text Input.
Generate a Script with AI
1. Choose the learning language
Start by choosing the language for the learning content. The script, read-aloud, and subtitles use this language.
2. Describe the scenario
In Scenario, describe what you want to practice, for example:
- Checking in for a flight
- Having lunch with a new colleague
- Making a hair appointment in Japanese
- Explaining a room problem to a hotel front desk
The scenario can be up to 500 characters. You can also start from one of the suggested scenarios and edit it.
3. Choose a difficulty
Choose one of:
- Newbie
- Beginner
- Intermediate
- Advanced
Aelano uses the level to adjust vocabulary and expression complexity. The default level follows the proficiency you set for that learning language.
4. Include words you want to practice
Tap Practice My Words to choose words you have not mastered yet. Aelano tries to include the selected words in the generated content, connecting the new material to your vocabulary review.
5. Generate
Tap Generate. Aelano shows the script progressively while it is being generated, then opens the editing and audio settings page.
Check the Script and Generate Audio
The preview shows:
- Learning language
- Character or word count
- Estimated duration
- Script format (dialogue or narration)
- Estimated points
Before submitting, you can:
- Change the title.
- Edit the script directly to fix an unnatural line or remove content you do not need.
- Choose a voice. Dialogue scripts can use different voices for different speakers.
- Adjust the pause between sentences; dialogue also has a separate pause for switching speakers.
- Tap Generate Audio to submit.
When audio generation finishes, the result enters your library. It can be played, studied, used for sentence bookmarks, and downloaded like other content.
Enter Text Directly
If you already have a script, you do not need AI generation:
- Switch to Text Input.
- Type or paste the text, or import it from a supported text file.
- Confirm the learning language and open the preview.
- Choose a voice, check the script, and generate the audio.
For dialogue, use speaker labels so Aelano can identify the two speakers:
A: Hi, how have you been?
B: Pretty good, thanks!
Ordinary paragraphs are treated as narration.
Points and Generation Time
The preview estimates the points required for audio generation. The actual cost depends on the script length, language, format, and voices, so use the estimate shown on the page before you submit.
Script generation and audio synthesis are asynchronous. After the submission succeeds, you can leave the page and check the result in your library later.
Practical Tips
- The more specific the scenario, the more useful the dialogue tends to be. Add the setting, relationship, and goal when they matter.
- Start with a small scenario and a short practice session. A one-to-three-minute piece is easier to study closely than one large topic.
- If vocabulary is the goal, use Practice My Words instead of putting a long list of words into the scenario description.
- Read or listen through the script before submitting. You can edit unnatural lines directly in the preview.
Common Questions
Does generated content automatically enter My Words & Sentences?
No. Generated content goes into your library. Add unfamiliar words or sentences while studying if you want to keep them.
Can I generate a script without generating audio?
You can review and edit the script on the preview page. To put it in your library as playable content, tap Generate Audio and submit it.
Can generated content be played offline?
Yes. Once the audio has finished generating and appears in your library, download it like any other content. See Offline Downloads and Local Cache.
Can I change the title?
Yes. Edit the title on the preview page before submitting the audio.
