If you already have an article, novel, course handout, speech transcript, or other written material, you do not need to turn it into audio first. Aelano can take the text into its Generate Content flow, then turn it into learnable audio and subtitles.
There are two ways to start:
.txt, .docx, or .pdf fileOpen the Aelano Home page and tap From Text in the import panel. On the next screen, choose the Text Input tab to open the editor.
If you are starting with a file, you can also tap Import from file below the text editor.
Choose the language of the text first. After you enter enough content, Aelano also tries to detect the language from its character patterns. You can always switch it manually so that pronunciation and generated content use the right language.
Type directly, or copy and paste from a web page, notes app, or another document.
One text input can contain up to 20,000 characters. For longer material, importing one chapter or topic at a time usually makes the resulting library easier to navigate and review.
When the text looks right, tap Preview. Continue through the Generate Content flow to confirm the format and voices, then study the result in the player like any other imported content.
Tap Import from file below the text editor and choose one file. The default supported formats are:
.txt: plain text, including common UTF-8 and GBK encodings.docx: Word documents.pdf: PDF documents.doc (Word 97–2003) is not supported. Save it as .docx in Word first.
The file size limit is 20 MB. Text files are processed one at a time; do not select them together with images or audio/video files.
Aelano extracts the text and puts the result back into the editor. You can remove unwanted paragraphs, correct a heading, or add your own notes before tapping Preview.
If a document contains multiple languages, you may be offered a language choice:
This step filters the original text. It does not translate or rewrite it.
When you import a PDF, you can choose which pages to process. Page numbers support individual pages and ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10; leave the field empty to import all pages.
PDF import has three modes:
Standard import allows up to 200 selected pages at a time. AI vision OCR is currently available for PDFs only, requires a learning language, and costs more as you select more pages.
Once extraction or recognition finishes, the text returns to the editor. Review it there before previewing and generating the content.
Why is the imported text shorter than the original?
The file may exceed the 20,000-character input limit, or you may have selected one language in a mixed-language document. Try importing by chapter, or choose All languages.
Why was my scanned PDF incomplete?
Standard import reads only the embedded text layer, and scans often do not have a complete one. Choose Smart recommend or AI vision OCR when you import it again.
Can I import a .doc Word file?
Not currently. Save it as .docx, then choose it through Import from file.
