If you already have a foreign-language novel, textbook, or another EPUB book you want to read, you do not need to turn it into audio or video first. Import it into Aelano and use the dedicated book reader to read by chapter, translate passages, adjust the reading layout, and listen to the text being read aloud.
Open the Aelano Home page, open the add-content or upload panel, and choose Import Book. If you are already inside a folder, you can also use that folder's add-content entry; the book is placed directly in the current folder.
The book import page currently supports:
epub
Open Table of Contents to see the chapter list and jump straight to a chapter. You do not have to scroll through a long book to find your place again.
The reader has two reading modes:
When you switch modes, Aelano reflows the current content for the new layout.
Use the translation control in the reader to view translated passages in the current chapter when you need help. Translation loads as needed, so you do not have to wait for an entire book to be processed before you start reading.
Under Appearance, you can adjust:
These preferences are saved and reused when you open other books.
The read-aloud controls at the bottom of the reader let you move to the previous passage, play, or move to the next passage. Depending on your device and language, you can also choose a voice, change the speed, and use an available offline voice.
After import, the original EPUB is kept on the device so the reader does not need to ask you for the file every time. Members can also back up the full EPUB to the cloud for use on another device; free users primarily use the local file, while the cover can still sync.
If the original file is deleted or cleaned from the device, opening the book prompts you to import it again from Home. Re-importing the same book restores access to it.
Why did the book not open in the audio/video player?
Books open in the book reader rather than as ordinary audio or video. You can enter them from your library or Continue Learning.
Why cannot I open the book on another device?
Local EPUB imports require the original file to still be on the device. Members can restore the full EPUB backup on another device signed in to the same account; if the local file is gone, import it again when prompted.
Is my reading position saved?
Yes. The chapter, passage, and reading progress are saved, and the next opening resumes near the last position when possible.
