When you are commuting, traveling, or dealing with an unreliable connection, downloaded content can still play locally. Offline downloads save the media and study information needed by the device, and the player uses the local copy first.
Generating a translation uses the relevant points. Downloading a translation that already exists does not generate it again.
The download button shows the current state:
Long-press an active download to cancel it. Waiting tasks continue when the required network becomes available.
Open My Downloads or Local Cache and turn on Wi-Fi only. When Wi-Fi-only mode is enabled and you start a download on mobile data, Aelano lets you wait for Wi-Fi or download immediately.
The page also shows:
Clearing the cache only removes the offline copies on this device. It does not delete cloud content, subscriptions, or study history. You can download the content again later.
Once a download is complete, you can open it from My Downloads and keep listening without a connection. Saved subtitles and translations use the snapshot captured with the download; new translations or online content updates require a fresh download before they appear in the local copy.
Where do I find completed downloads?
Open My Downloads or Local Cache. Items are grouped by content source, while standalone imports appear under Imported Content.
Does clearing the local cache delete my content?
No. It removes the downloaded files and offline snapshot from this device. Your library entries, subscriptions, and study history remain.
Why does downloading say that I do not have enough points?
You chose Translate and download, and the episode still has untranslated sentences. You can choose Download only, or add points and generate the translation first.
Can I pause a download?
Yes. Tap the download control while it is running to pause, then tap it again to resume. Failed tasks can also be retried.
